rivers & roots
This is a powerful time of year. It’s like a jungle out there! The sun is high in the sky and the days are long and rich.
We will make herbal medicines appropriate to the time, maybe find the first summer mushrooms, and nibble edible flowers. It is the perfect time to harvest the birchbark, the primary life-giving building material of the local Algonquin peoples. We will harvest bark and make a simple basket. It is also a perfect time for folklore, magic and stories
Red clover medicine, plantain, St. John’s wort, sweet white clover
Bark harvest for skin care, women’s medicine, aches pains arthritis, and first aid
Elderflower “champagne”, and wild yeast harvest
Birchbark basket
